The Hazard

CLASS 1 WARNING: ENTRAPMENT AND ASPHYXIATION

Sangohe is recalling adult portable bed rails. The bed rails can trap people. This can cause serious injury or death by suffocation. The bed rails do not meet safety standards.

About 36,500 (In January 2026, Sangohe previously recalled about 26,200 adult portable bed rails)

Why This Happens: Technical Breakdown

The Sangohe bed rails are being recalled because they don’t meet the required safety standards for adult portable bed rails. This means there’s a risk that a person using the bed rail could get stuck between the rail and the mattress, or within parts of the rail itself. This is especially dangerous for older adults or people with mobility issues who may not be able to free themselves.

If someone becomes trapped, they could suffer serious injuries. The biggest risk is asphyxiation, which happens when a person can’t breathe. This can lead to brain damage or even death. Because of these serious risks, it’s very important to stop using the recalled bed rails right away and follow the instructions to get a refund or replacement.
