About 740 skirts are affected. No injuries have been reported.
Why This Happens: Technical Breakdown
The Bmrwtg LED Tutu Skirts are being recalled because they don’t meet safety standards for products with small batteries. The battery compartment on the skirts, which powers the LED lights, can be easily opened by children. This means kids can access and swallow the small, button-like batteries inside.
These batteries, called lithium coin batteries, are very dangerous if swallowed. They can cause serious internal injuries and chemical burns in a short amount of time. The skirts also don’t have the warning labels that are required to alert parents to this danger. This makes it even more likely that a child could swallow a battery without anyone realizing the risk.
