The Hazard

CLASS 1 WARNING: ENTRAPMENT AND FALL HAZARDS

Macardac baby loungers are being recalled because they don’t meet safety standards for infant sleep products. The sides are too low, and the openings are too wide. This can cause babies to fall out or get trapped. These loungers create an unsafe sleeping space and could lead to serious injury or death.

About 700 units affected.

Why This Happens: Technical Breakdown

The Macardac baby loungers fail to meet mandatory safety standards for infant sleep products. The sides of the lounger are not high enough to keep a baby safely inside. Also, the openings at the end of the lounger are wider than allowed by safety regulations. These design flaws create a dangerous situation where a baby could roll out and fall, or become trapped within the lounger itself.

These baby loungers also lack a stand. If placed on a table or other elevated surface, the lounger could easily fall, causing injury to the baby inside. Because of these safety issues, the Macardac baby loungers are considered unsafe for infant sleep and pose a significant risk of serious injury or even death.
