The Hazard

CLASS 1 WARNING: CHOKING HAZARD

Yetonamr is recalling their Pull String Teething Toys. The toy’s silicone strings are too small. They can get stuck in a child’s throat. This can cause choking, breathing problems, or death.

CPSC is aware of 32 choking incidents.

Why This Happens: Technical Breakdown

The Yetonamr Pull String Teething Toy is being recalled because it does not meet safety standards. The silicone strings on the toy are too short. This means a child can easily put the strings in their mouth and they can slide to the back of the throat.

If a string gets lodged in the back of a child’s throat, it can block their airway. This can cause them to choke or have trouble breathing. In severe cases, it could lead to death. Because of this serious risk, it is important to stop using the toy immediately.
