URGENT RECALL: Autobrush Sonic Pro Kids Toothbrush Boxes

The Hazard

CHOKING, BATTERY INGESTION

Autobrush is recalling the delivery boxes for their Sonic Pro Kids toothbrushes. The white tray inside the delivery box contains a speaker with a coin cell battery. If a child accesses and swallows the battery, it can cause serious injury or death. Stop using the delivery box immediately and keep it away from children.

About 48,000 units are affected. No injuries have been reported.

Technical Breakdown

The recall is due to a safety issue with the packaging used to deliver the Autobrush Sonic Pro Kids toothbrushes. The white tray inside the delivery box has a small speaker attached to the underside. This speaker is powered by a coin cell battery. Coin cell batteries are extremely dangerous if swallowed by children, as they can cause chemical burns and serious internal damage.

The design of the delivery box does not adequately prevent children from accessing the battery. This violates federal safety standards for products containing coin cell batteries. The company is recalling the product to prevent potential harm to children.

Affected Products

  • The recall involves delivery boxes for Autobrush Sonic Pro Kids toothbrushes in the following animal designs: Unity the Unicorn, Lenni the Lion, Harley the Hippo, and Danny the Dino. The boxes have “autobrush KIDS” printed on them along with the animal’s image.
