URGENT RECALL: SAMIT Youth Multi-Purpose Helmets

Official Source: View Official Recall Notice | Published: April 07, 2026

The Hazard

CLASS 1 WARNING: HEAD INJURY

SAMIT is recalling youth multi-purpose helmets. These helmets don’t meet safety rules for bicycle helmets. They might not protect your child’s head in a crash. This could lead to serious injury or death.

About 3,295 helmets are affected.

Why This Happens: Technical Breakdown

The recalled helmets don’t meet important safety rules. These rules make sure helmets stay in place during a crash. They also make sure the helmets are tested and certified to work correctly. Because these helmets don’t follow the rules, they might move around on the head or come off completely when a child falls or crashes.

If a helmet doesn’t stay in place, it can’t protect the head. This means a child could get a serious head injury, even if they are wearing a helmet. The risk is very high because head injuries can be life-threatening, especially for children.
