The Hazard

CLASS 1 WARNING: HEAD INJURY

ProRider is recalling several models of bicycle helmets. These helmets do not meet safety standards. They may not protect your head in a crash, posing a risk of serious injury or death.

None reported

Why This Happens: Technical Breakdown

The recalled bicycle helmets fail to meet the mandatory safety standards required for bicycle helmets. These standards are in place to ensure that helmets can withstand a certain level of impact and provide adequate protection to the wearer’s head during a fall or collision. When a helmet doesn’t meet these standards, it means the materials used, the design, or the construction process are flawed.

In the event of an accident, a helmet that doesn’t meet safety standards may crack, break apart, or simply not absorb enough of the impact force. This can lead to a direct transfer of energy to the head, increasing the risk of skull fractures, concussions, and other traumatic brain injuries. Because these helmets don’t perform as expected, riders are at a much higher risk of serious harm.
