URGENT RECALL: Tiyol Pull String Teething Toy

The Hazard

CHOKING

Tiyol is recalling their pull string teething toy because it’s a serious choking hazard. The silicone strings are too long and thin, making it easy for them to get stuck in a baby’s throat. This can block their breathing and could even lead to death. Stop using this toy immediately!

CPSC is aware of 11 choking incidents.

Technical Breakdown

The problem with the Tiyol teething toy is that it doesn’t meet safety standards for toys. The silicone strings are longer and thinner than they’re supposed to be. This means a baby could easily gag on the string, and it could get lodged in their throat. If the string gets stuck, it can block the baby’s airway, making it hard or impossible for them to breathe.
