The Hazard

CLASS 1 WARNING: BURN HAZARD

3M Company has recalled Scotch™ Thermal Laminators. The laminators can overheat. This poses a burn hazard to users. Stop using the laminator immediately.

About 13,440 units are affected. No injuries have been reported.

Why This Happens: Technical Breakdown

The Scotch™ Thermal Laminator is being recalled because it can overheat during use. This overheating is due to a flaw in the laminator’s internal components. The flaw causes the machine to get too hot, which can melt the plastic housing or cause burns if touched.

The overheating issue is a serious safety concern. It can happen unexpectedly while the laminator is in operation. This poses a risk to anyone nearby. 3M is urging consumers to stop using the laminator right away to prevent potential injuries.
