The Hazard

CLASS 1 WARNING: CHOKING HAZARD

Mobi Games is recalling Zippee Silicone Activity Toys. The toy has small balls on the ends of strings. These balls can get stuck in a child’s throat. This poses a serious choking hazard, which could lead to injury or death.

Mobi Games knows of one incident where a child gagged and choked on the toy. The child vomited but was released from the hospital without further injuries.

Why This Happens: Technical Breakdown

The Zippee activity toy is made of a silicone cylinder with colorful strings. Some of these strings have small, round balls attached to the ends. These balls are small enough to fit in a child’s mouth. If a child puts the ball in their mouth, it can easily slide to the back of their throat.

Because the balls are round and smooth, they can block a child’s airway. This blockage can cause choking, gagging, and difficulty breathing. In severe cases, it can lead to serious injury or even death. The toy does not meet the federal safety standards for toys.
