URGENT RECALL: Cranach Hardware Plastic Tip Restraint Kits

Official Source: View Official Recall Notice | Published: April 07, 2026

The Hazard

CLASS 1 WARNING: TIP-OVER HAZARD

Cranach Hardware is recalling plastic tip restraint kits. The plastic parts can break or weaken over time. This can cause furniture to tip over. Children or elderly adults could be seriously hurt.

CPSC is aware of at least 115 incidents where consumers reported that the defective plastic tip restraint kits broke, including six reported tip-over incidents. No injuries have been reported.

Why This Happens: Technical Breakdown

The recalled tip restraint kits are made with plastic parts. These parts include brackets and zip ties. The plastic can break down over time. This makes the straps weak and unreliable. The straps are meant to keep furniture from tipping over. If the plastic breaks, the furniture can fall. This poses a serious risk of injury, especially to young children and older adults who may be near the furniture.
