CHOKING HAZARD
The AiTuiTui Pull String Teething Toy is being recalled because it can break apart and cause kids to choke. Little pieces of the silicone strings can come off if a child bites them. This poses a serious risk of injury or even death to babies and young children.
About 49,410 units were sold. CPSC is aware of 15 choking incidents and two incidents of children able to bite pieces off the silicone strings.
Technical Breakdown
This teething toy is shaped like a disc with colorful strings attached. These strings are meant for babies to pull and chew on, but they can break. If a child bites off a piece of the string, they could choke.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is aware of 15 choking incidents related to this toy. In two of those incidents, children were actually able to bite off pieces of the silicone strings. This shows that the toy isn’t strong enough and can easily break, making it dangerous for babies.
