The Hazard

CLASS 1 WARNING: CHOKING HAZARD

AiTuiTui Pull String Teething Toys are being recalled because they can cause serious injury or death. The pull strings can detach or be bitten off. This creates a choking hazard for young children. Stop using the toy immediately.

CPSC is aware of 15 choking incidents and two incidents of children able to bite pieces off the silicone strings.

Why This Happens: Technical Breakdown

The AiTuiTui teething toy has pull strings that are not strong enough. Children can pull the strings off. Also, children can bite off pieces of the silicone strings.

These small pieces can get stuck in a child’s throat. This can cause choking, which is very dangerous. The toy also does not meet safety standards for toys.
