ELENKER is recalling their portable bed rails because they can trap people, leading to serious injury or death. These bed rails don’t meet safety standards and create a dangerous gap between the rail and the mattress. If someone gets stuck, they could suffocate.
About 30 units are affected. No injuries have been reported.
Technical Breakdown
The ELENKER bed rails are being recalled because they don’t meet the safety requirements for adult portable bed rails. When attached to a bed, a dangerous gap can form. This gap can trap a person’s head or neck between the rail and the mattress.
Because these bed rails don’t meet safety standards, people using them are at risk of serious injury or even death by asphyxiation (suffocation). The company hasn’t reported any injuries yet, but the risk is significant enough to warrant a recall. The bed rails also lack required warning labels about the hazard.

- Model HFK-5115 (SKU K90002C1): About 37.8 inches wide and 16.3 inches high.
- Model HFK-5116 (SKU K90001C1): About 28.5 inches wide and 16.3 inches high.
- Model HFK-5124 (SKU K90003C1): About 48.6 inches wide and 16.3 inches high.

- STOP: Immediately stop using the recalled ELENKER bed rails. They are not safe.
