URGENT RECALL: Evajoy Above-Ground Pools

The Hazard

CLASS 1 WARNING: DROWNING

Evajoy is recalling above-ground pools that are 48 inches and taller. The pools have a strap that can be used as a foothold. This allows children to climb into the pool, even if the ladder is removed. This creates a drowning hazard for children.

Why This Happens: Technical Breakdown

The Evajoy above-ground pools have a compression strap around the outside. This strap is meant to support the pool’s structure. However, the strap creates a place for children to put their feet. This foothold makes it easier for kids to climb into the pool without a ladder.

Even if you take away the pool ladder, kids can still use the strap to get in. This is very dangerous because children can drown if they are not supervised in the pool. The company is recalling these pools to prevent accidental drownings.
