The Hazard
FIRE
EVLWZL and Gunugu mattresses are being recalled because they don’t meet fire safety standards. This means they could catch fire more easily, putting you at serious risk of injury or even death. Stop using the mattress immediately!
About 670 mattresses are affected. No injuries have been reported.
Technical Breakdown
The government requires all mattresses sold in the US to meet certain flammability standards to prevent fires. These mattresses from EVLWZL and Gunugu failed to meet those standards. This is a serious safety concern because a mattress that easily catches fire can quickly spread flames, especially while you’re sleeping.
The problem is that the materials used to make these mattresses can ignite more easily than allowed by law. This means that even a small spark from a cigarette, lighter, or electrical issue could cause the mattress to catch fire quickly and burn intensely. This presents a significant risk of burns, smoke inhalation, and property damage.
