The Hazard

CLASS 1 WARNING: FIRE HAZARD

Wilteexs is recalling bioethanol fuel bottles. These bottles are used for tabletop fire pits and fireplaces. The bottles can cause a flash fire. This poses a serious risk of injury or death.

About 1,100 bottles are affected.

Why This Happens: Technical Breakdown

The recalled bioethanol fuel bottles don’t meet federal safety standards. They are missing a flame mitigation device. This device is required by law to prevent dangerous flash fires when refueling. Without it, flames can travel back into the bottle. This can cause a sudden and explosive fire.

Also, the bottles falsely claim the fuel is “Non Toxic”. This violates federal regulations for hazardous substances. This misleading claim could lead to improper handling or storage of the fuel. This increases the risk of fire or other accidents.
