The Hazard
LACERATION AND INGESTION
Analemma is recalling their water bottles because the inside glass can break. If the glass breaks, you could cut yourself or swallow pieces of glass, leading to serious injury or even death. Stop using these water bottles immediately!
20 reports of broken glass, including one oral injury.
Technical Breakdown
The problem is that the glass liner inside the Analemma water bottles can crack or break. This can happen during normal use, like when you’re filling it with water or carrying it around. If the glass breaks, small shards can get into your drink, and you might not even see them. These shards can cause cuts in your mouth, throat, or stomach if swallowed. In some cases, broken glass can lead to very serious internal injuries that require medical attention.
The company has found a fix: a stainless-steel mesh insert. This insert helps keep the glass pieces contained if the bottle breaks. They’ll send it to you for free, along with instructions on how to put it in.
