URGENT RECALL: Grizzly Industrial Heavy-Duty Planers

Official Source: View Official Recall Notice | Published: April 07, 2026

The Hazard

CLASS 1 WARNING: LACERATION AND IMPACT

Grizzly Industrial is recalling heavy-duty planers. The chip breaker can hit the cutterhead blades. This can cause pieces to fly out of the planer. This poses a risk of cuts and impacts to people nearby.

Grizzly Industrial has received seven reports of the rotating cutters of the planers breaking. No injuries have been reported.

Why This Happens: Technical Breakdown

The Grizzly Industrial planers have a problem with the chip breaker. The chip breaker is a part that helps guide wood chips away from the cutting blades. In some cases, the chip breaker can make contact with the rotating cutterhead blades while the planer is in use.

When the chip breaker hits the blades, it can cause small pieces of metal or wood to break off and be thrown from the machine with great force. This flying debris can hit the user or bystanders, causing cuts, bruises, or other injuries. The force of the impact could also damage property in the area.
