The Hazard

CLASS 1 WARNING: INGESTION

Kitosun is recalling submersible LED lights. The lights contain small button batteries. These batteries can be easily accessed by children. If swallowed, these batteries can cause serious injury or death.

About 8,100 units are affected. No injuries have been reported.

Why This Happens: Technical Breakdown

The Kitosun Submersible LED Lights are being recalled because they don’t meet safety standards for products with button batteries. The batteries are too easy for children to get to. Also, the lights are missing required warning labels about the dangers of button battery ingestion, as required by Reese’s Law.

Button batteries are very dangerous if swallowed. They can cause chemical burns and serious internal injuries. In some cases, swallowing a button battery can be fatal. This is why it’s important to keep products with button batteries away from children.
