The Hazard

CLASS 1 WARNING: FIRE HAZARD

Polaris is recalling certain Ranger XP 1000 NorthStar and Ranger Crew XP 1000 NorthStar ROVs due to a fire hazard. A problem with the vehicle can cause it to catch fire. This could lead to serious injuries. Stop using the recalled ROVs immediately.

About 5,130 ROVs in the US and 460 in Canada are affected.

Why This Happens: Technical Breakdown

The recalled Polaris Ranger vehicles have a problem that can cause a fire. Specifically, the vehicles can develop a fuel leak near hot engine components. If fuel leaks onto these hot parts, it can ignite and cause a fire. This poses a significant risk of burns and other serious injuries to the driver and passengers.

The problem is due to a manufacturing defect. Polaris is working to fix the issue by providing a free repair. Owners should contact Polaris or a local dealer to schedule the repair as soon as possible. Until the repair is completed, owners should not operate the recalled vehicles.
