The fire and burn hazard from lithium-ion battery failure is particularly dangerous because it can occur while the product is charging unattended, often overnight or while you’re away from home. Never charge recalled electronics on flammable surfaces (beds, couches, carpet) and never leave them charging unattended until you’ve verified they are not part of a recall.
Electronics identification numbers are usually printed on the bottom label or etched into the casing. Some products encode the manufacture date in the serial number — if the recall affects only units made before a certain date, you’ll need to decode this.
