The Hazard
FIRE, BURN, POISONING
Alliance Chemical is recalling 1-K Kerosene Heater Fuel because the containers don’t meet safety standards. This means there’s a serious risk of a flash fire if the fuel catches fire. It also doesn’t have a special part to stop flames from spreading quickly. Plus, kids could accidentally drink it, leading to poisoning. This is super dangerous, so take action right away!
About 30,155 units are affected. No injuries have been reported so far.
Technical Breakdown
The recalled kerosene containers don’t have a flame mitigation device. This device is required by law to prevent dangerous flash fires. Without it, if the fuel is exposed to a spark or flame, it can ignite very quickly and intensely, posing a severe burn risk.
Additionally, the containers don’t have the child-resistant features required for products containing hazardous substances. This means that children could easily open the containers and ingest the kerosene, leading to poisoning, internal damage, and even death. The lack of proper labeling and safety features makes this product extremely dangerous.
