Electrolux Group has recalled Frigidaire, Frigidaire Gallery, and Frigidaire Professional Gas Ranges. The oven’s bake burner can have a delayed ignition. This can cause burns to the user. Stop using the recalled ranges immediately.
Electrolux Group and the CPSC are aware of 62 reports of the oven’s bake burner delayed ignition, including 30 reports of burn injuries.
Why This Happens: Technical Breakdown
The gas ranges have a problem with the oven’s bake burner. Sometimes, the burner doesn’t light right away. This is called a delayed ignition. When the gas finally ignites, it can create a sudden burst of flame. This unexpected flame can come out of the oven and burn anyone standing nearby.
The problem is caused by a flaw in the design or manufacturing of the burner. This flaw allows gas to build up inside the oven before igniting. The buildup of gas creates a more powerful and dangerous ignition. This delayed ignition poses a serious burn risk to consumers using the oven.
