URGENT RECALL: Fengrong Tool Electric Pressure Washers

The Hazard

ELECTROCUTION

Fengrong Tool is recalling its electric pressure washers because they don’t have a special safety feature called a GFCI. This means there’s a serious risk of getting a dangerous electric shock, which could cause injury or even death. Stop using these pressure washers immediately to protect yourself and your family.

About 500 units were sold. No injuries have been reported.

Technical Breakdown

The recalled pressure washers lack an integral ground-fault circuit-interrupter (GFCI). A GFCI is designed to quickly shut off power if it detects a ground fault, which is when electricity flows through an unintended path, such as through a person. Without this important safety feature, users are exposed to a high risk of electric shock and electrocution, especially when using the pressure washer in wet conditions. This poses a significant safety hazard that could lead to serious injury or death.
